Benjamin and Elaine van Rensburg have lived in Istanbul for 24 years and

have two adult daughters, Sarah and Rachel, who now live in Scotland.

Benjamin first moved to Turkiye in 1993 and was immediately interested to explore this fascinating land with its rich culture, history, ancient monuments and spectacular natural beauty. He is passionate about Middle Eastern culture and language and understanding the Bible in context. He believes that spiritual formation occurs through reflection, prayer and learning which leads people to become what God intended them to be. He has led numerous retreats and tours in Turkey and Israel and has seen how people from all over the world have been enriched by experiencing the countries of the Bible.  Benjamin served for 14 years as the Pastor of an international church in Istanbul and has also pastored in Scotland and Mauritius, where he served as Principal of a theological training institute. He is fluent in English, Afrikaans and Turkish.
